  • What’s Up Around Downtown in November?

    Dominic_Mission The coming of November certainly marks many changes with shorter days, cooler weather, the smell of fireplaces burning in the evening, a little bit of frost on the local trails and couples bundled up at the market. It also marks some critical changes for our local folks with several critical ballot measures and a competitive race for seats on the City Council. This is the way of so many countless Novembers for us that sometimes we forget about how lucky we are to publicly get together with an idea, discuss it, craft it into a proposal, put it on the ballot and vote on it as a community. Ironically we have our elections in the same month each year as Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. With the sequence of events of Election Day on November 4th, Veterans Day on November 11th and Thanksgiving on November 27th, it is safe to say that we all have a lot to be thankful for this fall.  Read More

  • Notice to Downtown Businesses and Residents

    Parade_FlyerThis is a notice to all Downtown businesses and residents of street closures due to our 39th Annual Holiday Parade on Friday, December 5. If your business, residence and/or parking space is located within the event area (click here to see map), you will not be granted access from 5 to 11 PM.

    Parking passes for the City Hall parking lot at Mill and Osos streets are available in our office located at 1108 Garden Street, Suite 210.  Residents on Brizzola, Nipomo, Dana and Peach streets MUST show a barricade pass for access.  Those passes are also available in our office.

Great American Main Street Award Winner

San Luis Obispo, California was awarded The Great American Main Street Award in 1999 by the National Trust For Historic Preservation. Since 1995, this esteemed award has been presented to five US Cities each year, recognizing them for their successful preservation-based downtown revivals.

Old SLO Trolley

Trolley service is provided from both of the parking structures and at convenient locations within the Downtown core approximately every 15 minutes. The fare is 50 cents. Hours of operation are:

  • Thursdays - 5 to 9 p.m. - Year Round
  • Fridays - 5 to 9 p.m. - June-Labor Day
  • Saturday - 5 to 9 p.m. - April - October
