    Diego's UmbrellaGet ready for the high energy, always entertaining, ambassadors of gypsy rock– Diego’s Umbrella!  This Friday, July 1st at Concerts in the Plaza!  THE premier summer concert series is presented by Sunset Honda and hosted by SLO Downtown Association and runs every Friday from June 10th through September 9th from 5 – 8 PM.

    Diego’s Umbrella, an American gypsy rock band, captures California’s cultural multiplicity with enthusiasm, humor and decadence. The band’s lively, unforgettable, heavy-hitting stage show has visually and aurally captivated diverse audiences from all walks of life.   • Notice: Broad Street Closure on July 6th for Construction of Garden Street Terraces/Hotel Serra Project

    hotel_serra_broad_streetConstruction on the Garden Street Terraces/Hotel Serra Project continues with plans to conduct concrete pours to the buildings foundations on Wednesday, July 6th. Broad Street from Marsh Street and Higuera street will be closed to traffic from 7 AM to 7 PM to accommodate staging for trucks and pumps for the concrete placement.  The sidewalk on the project side of Broad Street will be closed to pedestrian traffic. However, the opposite side will be open to pedestrians with barricades to provide a safety barrier and prevent pedestrians from entering the street.     Father_Russell_BrownMission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa is one of the oldest establishments in the area we know as Downtown SLO, second only to our Chumash population and natural environment. I would be remiss to not have taken a chance to sit down with Father Russell Brown as a part of my interview series this year. Father Russ is known to many of our community members in many capacities and I wanted to take a chance to study his perspective on our community, the perspective of a pastor in the middle of an urban center. I was amazed to learn of his story and how he came to be the current leader of our Mission.

Old SLO Trolley

Trolley service is provided from both of the parking structures and at convenient locations within the Downtown core approximately every 15 minutes. The fare is 50 cents. Hours of operation are:

  • Thursdays - 5 PM to 9 PM - Year Round
  • Fridays - 5 PM to 9 PM - June-Labor Day
  • Saturday - 5 PM to 9 PM - April - October
