- What’s Up Around Downtown?
It’s election time for the San Luis Obispo Downtown Association this month. While on the national front the fur is flying and candidates are on their soapboxes flapping their arms and pointing fingers at one another, that is not the case Downtown. Our candidates are all running on a similar platform, their love for Downtown SLO. You won’t see any mud slinging here because the ballot is chock full of the most professional shop owners, restaurateurs and professionals in America. Professionals that don’t let party lines get in the way of getting things done and really embody what democracy is all about.
- Meet Our Interns
The SLO Downtown Association welcomes our interns for this quarter, Jackie Steele, Serena Brown and Stephanie Ziegler. They are all Cal Poly students and as interns this quarter, they will gain experience from our organization by working on projects with our Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market, Downtown Bunny Trail, Downtown Brown’s Birthday Celebration, Concerts in the Plaza, and much, much more!
- Chamisal Vineyards Wines to Be Served at 2016 Concerts in the Plaza
The San Luis Obispo Downtown Association will be proudly pouring wines from Chamisal Vineyards at its 2016 Concerts in the Plaza this summer. The SLO Downtown Association is partnering with the local winery to bring concert goers two of their most popular wines- Chamisal Stainless Chardonnay and Stainless Pinot Noir. These unique wines are produced without use of any oak or malolactic fermentation, allowing the pure flavors and aromas of the fruit to stand alone.
Chamisal Vineyards, the historic property that is home to the first vineyard planted in Edna Valley, is situated just six miles east of the Pacific Ocean. Its close proximity to the ocean brings a cooler climate and the perfect elements for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
