- What’s Happening Around Downtown in May?
May is here and it is going to be a busy month for us Downtown. The month kicks off with Art After Dark the first night of May to set the pace for a big run of events in the coming weeks. Downtown is looking forward to our signature events including Mother’s Day Flower Giveaway, Law Enforcement Night, Public Works Night and our beloved Downtown Brown’s Birthday! We are also excited to be rolling out with our Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics section of Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market, STEAM Alley on Garden Street. Another new addition to the market is the continuation of our Fresh Picked Concert Series on our Harvest Stage at the East end of the market.
- Downtown Association Forms New Committee
Are you looking for a chance to be more involved with issues that affect your Downtown business or experience? The San Luis Obispo Downtown Association’s 2015-16 Board of Directors has a great opportunity available to business owners who want to be involved with the issues that face our Downtown. An informational meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 27 for the newly formed Issues Evaluation Committee at 8:30 AM in the SLO Downtown Association conference room.
Business owners and managers are welcome to attend to learn about the role this committee will play in our community. This committee will be comprised of four members from the Board of Directors and eight at large Downtown Association members. The Board is striving to build a cross-sectional representation of the Downtown business mix and is looking for interested parties to submit an application for further review. The application consists of a contact information form and 250-word response about your participation with important issues. For any further information and to request an application please email Dominic@DowntownSLO.com
