- What’s Up Around Downtown in August?
We live in an age of advanced technology and high speed Internet where within minutes of a question at dinner Google will have provided an answer to someone at the table. Personally, I think the advantages of the technological developments like my iPhone are a great way to be more productive and to be prepared for a wide variety of situations at any given moment. - Downtown Business Spotlight – ParlourParlour [pahr-ler] noun; a somewhat private room in a hotel, club, or the like for relaxation, conversation, etc.; lounge.
Twenty-one years ago, fresh out of Beauty College, David Stewart started working at the Bladerunner in Downtown San Luis Obispo. Twelve years ago Stewart and his partner Mark Padgett started looking for a space to open their own salon. One year ago, they spotted a sign on Marsh Street advertising a new building that offered commercial space to purchase. Two months ago David provided services for the first time in their new salon in the Marsh Street Commons building at 575 Marsh Street. One week ago, Parlour began running at full steam with eight stylists who provide expert color, cut, styling and barbering services. Five minutes ago, Mark and David took a long deep breath.
You can find them online at www.ParlourOnline.com or Facebook.com/ParlourEnterprises.
